Because We Obeyed, Your Mile Went Unwalked (2019)
The Tank Theater (February 2020),  WAXworks (February 2020), Connecticut College (April 2019)

“Because We Obeyed, Your Mile Went Unwalked” explores destructive obedience: the devastating actions people are capable of committing when they are an unquestioning member of a system. In the face of routine and normalized group-membership, commands are given and adhered to. Blind-faith and a hive mind defeat questioning and individualism. The world created in this work is one of urgency and drive. Movement is large and militaristic. Space is devoured.

Performed by:  Angelina Annino, Emma Benington, Kaya Blumenthal-Rothchild, Sydney Bryan, Elisa Kennedy, Katarina Konstantino, Sophia McLaughlin, Kezia Rogers, Mara Senecal-Albrecht

Music: "Let Your Love Grow" by Modeselektor ft. Paul St. Hillaire; "REM" by Pearson Sound; "Sinister (S100 Remix)" by Par Grindvik

Text performed by Rachael Lieblein-Jurbala and Michael Jurbala
